The Story...

Eko Ile

The ‘Streets of Nigeria’ series is an artistic documentation of the architecture, lifestyle, and people in the Nigerian communities that I visit.

This is named after one of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti’s songs. The Yoruba phrase ‘Eko Ile’ translates to ‘Lagos home’. Here, I’ve drawn one of the dilapidated remnants of old colonial edifices, usually seen in the slums of Lagos mainland.
