Nigerians take great care in naming their offspring.
“Afa onye na-eso ya” is an Igbo saying meaning, “a person’s name follows him/her.” Ijeọma is a popular Igbo name, usually given to daughters, which translates to ‘great journey’.
In this piece, I try to capture the personality of the bearer of such name. I’ve known them to be vivacious and high-spirited individuals, captured here with the use of brilliant colours and a striking pose.
