IJE Art Exhibition 1.0

Nelen Studios hosted the maiden exhibition of the Ije Art Movement – a visual art group co-founded by the Nelen founder and five other young Nigerian artists looking to share their Nigerian realities through Art. The theme “Akalaka” which is Igbo for “destiny” was visually translated by the six IJE Artists through preferred media of choice.

The exhibition was inclusive and legible to all, targeting a multi-disciplinary and multi-generational audience including school kids and young adults, members of the clergy, government officials, academicians and traditional rulers. The event ended in a community engagement session with guests to share their interpretations of the  artworks and the benefits of art in society.
