Nelen Art Live

Nelen Art’s live performances feature emerging local talent, ranging from stand-up comedy and Ethno/AfroJazz music to poetry jams and classic movie screenings. Artists rehearse at Nelen Art studios before taking the stage.

A highlight is the Ichoku band, led by ethnomusicologist Gerald Eze, who plays the Oja, a local wind instrument. The band uses unique, handcrafted instruments like the Ubo-aka, a string instrument made from calabash. Gerald, also a music lecturer, focuses on preserving and advancing traditional Nigerian instruments.
